A vintage 14K gold Santo Niño pendant from the Philippines. This is the image of the Holy Child Jesus dressed like a king and holding the globe with a cross on his left hand while raising his right hand in blessing. The Santo Niño is deeply rooted in Filipino culture. It is said that upon arriving in the Philippines in 1521, Ferdinand Magellan presented a Santo Niño image to Rajah Humabon, the chieftain of Cebu and his wife, Hara Amihan as a gift. They were one of the first Christian converts.
